Our Story

CachaNova was born out of culture, curiosity, and a bold idea—but its roots run deep in Brazil.

Growing up, I spent most of my summers in Brazil, and I am deeply connected to the culture through my mom, a native of Minas Gerais. From family gatherings to nights out, the caipirinha, Brazil’s national cocktail, was always part of the moment. When I was finally old enough to try one myself, I realized it was never just about the cocktail. It was about the stories shared around the table, the laughter that carried into the night, and the people who made those moments unforgettable.

However, when I returned to the U.S., I noticed something missing. Cachaça, the spirit at the heart of Brazil's national cocktail, was difficult to find. And the ready-to-drink aisle was filled with the same vodka, tequila, and malt-based drinks. Nothing reflected the culture, authenticity, or experience I had grown to love.

So, during my Entrepreneurial Management class at Boston College, I pitched an idea: What if we created a premium canned cocktail made with authentic Brazilian cachaça? One that honored the traditions of Brazil while making them approachable for people who had never experienced them before.

That idea quickly became much bigger than me.

My classmates, Kaylin Marshall and John Giglia, believed in the vision from the very beginning. Together, we transformed a classroom pitch into CachaNova. While I focused on shaping our brand and bringing our story to life, Kaylin led the operational side of the business, navigating everything from production to regulatory hurdles, and John built the financial and marketing foundation that continues to drive our growth. Together, we've spent countless late nights learning an industry from the ground up, building relationships across the U.S. and Brazil, and turning an ambitious idea into a company we're incredibly proud of.

Today, CachaNova is the culmination of that journey—a premium canned cocktail crafted with authentic Brazilian cachaça, real lime, and cane sugar. But more importantly, it's our way of sharing a piece of Brazil with others. We believe the best moments in life aren't defined by what's in your glass, but by who you're sharing it with.
